Greetings, my name is Mr. Calvin Davis and I am the  7th and 8th Grade English Language Arts and Reading Comprehension teacher. I am a native a very small town right outside off Memphis, Tennessee called Mason, Tennessee. I am an educator by profession, a servant by calling, and a mentor by purpose. My heart to serve people goes beyond what I can say.  I have been working with youth and young adults every since I was a child. My inspiration to be an educator was inspired by my mother who has been a teacher for over twenty years. As a child, I watched my mother not only be an employee or teacher at the school that has been employed at for many years, but I watched her be a significant part of the school, being the person who I watched serve in capacities such as: overseer and chairperson of all of the school holiday events, girls basketball coach, cheerleader coach, drama club overseer, flag girl coach, security guard, and even In School Suspension disciplinarian.  Because of my mother, it has been imparted into my life just be a servant regardless of whether you are compensated or recognized for it, understanding that we are God's servants and we have a responsibility to do just that. As an educator, I understand it takes a village to give children exactly what they need to be successful in life, an sometimes we are a big part of that village. Conclusively, I can not promise a perfect teacher in my journey as an educator, but I can indeed vow to give my best and be invested in the lives of each student by providing then quality teaching in order to ensure that no child is left behind and each student is successful.
