The partnership between Buckner International and the Academy of Dallas is a collaborative effort aimed at enhancing students' social and emotional development, fostering resilience, and promoting a positive school environment. By joining forces to actionize the Why Try Empowerment Initiative, our district is able to implement a proven resilience education curriculum that equips students with essential life skills to overcome challenges and succeed in academics and beyond. Through this partnership, students have the opportunity to engage in meaningful lessons and activities that focus on goal setting, decision making, communication, and coping strategies. Teachers are supported with resources and training to effectively implement the program, creating a cohesive approach to supporting student well-being. The partnership also emphasizes building positive relationships, fostering a growth mindset, and creating a supportive community where all members - students, educators, and parents - are empowered to thrive. Proximity Learning at Academy of Dallas is more than an online virtual experience.

Imagine your child engaging with interactive, dynamic, caring, and certified teachers across the country while attending school in-person with their peers. Proximity Learning is an interactive learning experience that remove barriers between students and teachers through livestreaming virtual classroom.

Students attend class in-person with a facilitator. The facilitator in the class coordinates with proximity teacher to provide intentional support with the students. This learning experience connect all learners by livestreams, enabling students to receive a more equitable education.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Caring virtual teachers that work on forming relationships, building a rapport and making a true impact on their students
